Gerald Collins is a native Washingtonian, who grew up and attended both the public and parochial schools in D.C. He served in the United States Navy aboard ships and at posts both in the states and overseas as both an officer and an enlisted man, from 1965 to 1969, and again from 1974 to 1988. The Douglas House is his first full-length novel and is based in part on his experiences while in the Navy in London during the 1960s.
